Clinkenbeard and restoration of the World War II F4U Fighter Aircraft.

Published: Thursday, March 12, 2009

Clinkenbeard recently collaborated with Connecticut Corsair in the restoration of the World War II F4U Fighter Aircraft.  Our slogan “Fasterestest” really came into play as we were required to machine about 35 parts in aluminum as well as plastic in about a two and one half week timeframe.  We produced the parts directly from 3D CAD data that was emailed to us from Connecticut Corsair.  Connecticut Corsair recently displayed the refurbished fighter plane at the 2009 SolidWorks Show.  The case study for this project is available under the
News and Events section of our website www.clinkenbeard.com and will be featured in our next e-newsletter.
